Our Family Living program provides support to families caring for a person living with developmental disabilities or to a person living on his/her own and requiring some support. The difference between this program and others is that Family Living works to develop skills for individuals who are learning to become fully independent. Essentially, this program allows for an individual to settle into their life, whether it is on their own or with a family of their own.
Jessica is 21 years old and came to Los Pasitos Learning Center at a very young age. She later left the program to attend public school in Roswell. After graduating High School at the age of 18, she returned to Tobosa and is living on her own and participating in the Family Living program. Although staff is around to check in at various times throughout the week, visits are generally to help with prompts or redirection on chores and responsibilities. Jessica currently works at a local agency, lives independently, and has a very fulfilling life, surrounded by family and friends.
